The City of Williams Lake is in the central interior of British Columbia, and is located within the Cariboo Regional District. Currently, there are roughly 11,000 residents within the community, and this number is steadily increasing.
Over the years, the City of Williams Lake has become a hub for forestry, mining, agriculture, and transportation with the construction of the CN Rail.
Williams Lake is home to eight public elementary schools and two secondary schools. Accordingly, the City of Williams Lake also hosts a regional campus for Thompson Rivers University. The campus offers a wide variety of programs and courses, which include but are not limited to, university transfers, health and safety certification, and trades and technology.
In terms of recreation, the Cariboo Memorial Complex is the City's largest and renowned sporting complex. The City also has facilities for golfing, curling, tennis, swimming, rugby, and baseball. The Mount Timothy Ski Area, located near 150 Mile House, is a great location for skiing and snowboarding during winter months. Conversely, during the summer, the City of Williams Lake and area features a world class network of mountain bike trails, which offer breathtaking scenery and terrain.
